Requirements for the Certificate, Status as of October 9, 2002

This paper is required in most German <Standesamt> as a prerequisite to marry your Filipina bride. The only place to issue this paper are the Philippine embassies in Berlin or Bonn, and you have to appear together with your bride in person. 

The requirements:

• Personnel appearance in the Embassy
• Passport of the Applicant
• Photocopy of the passport of the applicant
• Passport of the Fiancée
• Photocopy of the passport of the Fiancée
• Colored passport picture of the applicant 
• Colored passport picture of the Fiancée
• Birth certificate of the applicant, on Secpa paper, issued from the NSO and certified from the Ombudsman and the DFA, plus a copy of that paper
• Single certificate of the applicant, issued from the NSO and certified from the Ombudsman and the DFA, plus a copy of that paper
• Affidavit of Parental Consent, duly notarized by a Notary Public and certified from the Ombudsman and the DFA, plus a copy of that paper, for applicants age 18-20
• Affidavit of Parental Advice, duly notarized by a Notary Public and certified from the Ombudsman and the DFA, plus a copy of that paper, for applicants age 21-26
• If divorced, copy of the divorce decree
• If widowed, authenticated marriage certificate (Ombudsman, DFA) plus copy and authenticated Death certificate (Ombudsman, DFA) plus copy
• If marriage annulled, authenticated decree of the Annulment and marriage contract bearing the NSO annotation that the marriage has been annulled, plus copies thereof. 
• 65 Euro processing fee
• Fill out the application Form for the Document (three Pages)

The procedure: When all the papers are available and correct, the applicant will be invited for an interview in the embassy. During this interview the embassy simply wants to find out if the applicant is really willing to marry her fiancée out of her own and free will. Once this is over and the fee has been paid, the certificate will be issued within a few minutes.

This certificate consist out of an English and a German form, so there is no need for an additional translation  for the German Standesamt.
